Ela’s Oils Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to improve your overall well-being. We achieve this through smell by use of an oil diffuser or room sprays and via skin absorption by direct application of our products. The inhalation of essential oils stimulates the part of the brain connected to smell, the olfactory system.

A signal is sent to the limbic system of the brain that controls emotions and retrieves learned memories. This causes chemicals to be released which make a person feel relaxed, calm, or even stimulated. There is a synergy between the body and aromatic oils. When targeting our sense of smell they activate the limbic system and emotional centers of the brain. When applied topically (onto the skin) they activate thermal receptors and destroy microbes and fungi. They are versatile and suitable to treating many common ailments and conditions with each essential oil having a different therapeutic property.

Essential Oil To provide some examples: german chamomile and everlasting are used as an anti-inflammatory, black pepper and eucalyptus are excellent as an analgesic, lavender and sweet marjoram work brilliantly as a sedative and rosemary/basil are great stimulants.

Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts, 50 times more potent than the herbs from which they derive. This affords them great healing potential but with this power comes the need to respect and use them properly especially if you are pregnant. If you are pregnant please consult with a qualified aromatherapist before administering any essential oil treatments to yourself.

All Ela’s Oils’ products contain therapeutic grade essential oils that are carefully sourced from Australian suppliers of pure natural essential oils. Base oils used in our body oils, under eye oils, bath oils and perfume oils include therapeutic grade rose hip oil, jojoba oil and sweet almond oil. Our body mists, bath oils and room sprays use an almond and coconut oil derived emulsifier, that is gentle on your skin, and enables the essential oils to disperse in water. We use sea salt or Epsom salts as the exfoliant in my body scrubs because of its mineral content.
